It's Over...

Just wanted to let you all know that the trial is over and Lisa is headed home today.

It went extremely well and ended with a 45 minute deliberation (very short) to find D guilty. He will be sentenced on Monday, although Lisa won't be there.

Lisa sounds at peace. She sounds like (and said she feels) a HUGE weight was lifted from her shoulders. She's still processing through many emotions, but she sounds well.

More than anything, I am blown away by how much God comforted her and worked through her. Shaun (my step-dad who is a lawyer) and my Mom both said that Lisa did an excellent job on the stand, which is an extremely difficult thing to do, when your emotion gets in the way and an opposing lawyer is antagonizing you. A mix of anger and profound pity wells up in me when I think of the people around D who have deceived him and twisted stories and events to minimize the physical and emotional trauma that Lisa endured, and somehow make him believe it was her fault.

This is truly the Lord's victory! Thank you all so much for all of your prayer! In addition to being a huge presence in the spiritual battle, you were all an ENORMOUS encouragement to Lisa.

Please continue to keep her in your prayers as she processes through her emotions and goes back to normal life.

Blessings to you all! :)
