Fireworks

This year for Independence Day we wanted to do something a little extra special and we definitely were looking forward to Danny's first experience seeing fireworks.

We drove north to a neighboring town called Palmer Lake and joined the throngs of people who planted their lawn chairs around the lake for the fireworks show and waited for the sun to set.

We brought a picnic blanket.  (Good decision.)
And the stroller.  (Bad decision.)
And lots of snacks.  (Good decision.)
And light clothes with no blanket.  (Bad decision.)
And of course, Danny.  (Good decision.)
And Toby.  (Bad decision.)

Oh well.  Hind sight's 20/20 right?  We had a great time anyway.

It seemed like we waited forever for the fireworks display, but it was well worth the wait.

It was a great show, and Danny was enthralled!  He kept pointing and cheering and watching and waving. I just wish I could have gotten a picture of him, but of course, it was too dark.

It was a perfect end to our Independence Day weekend.
